Carbonfit partners with the Law Society of Northern Ireland to drive Net Zero leadership in the legal sector
We’re delighted to announce a new strategic partnership between The Law Society of Northern Ireland (LSNI) and Carbonfit, created to help member firms reduce emissions, cut energy costs, and future-proof their practices in a rapidly changing world.
The partnership was officially launched on Thursday, at which guests heard from Simon Chambers, Chair of the Law Society’s Climate Justice Group; Ben Craig, Carbonfit's Head of Partnerships and Business Development; and Colin Mitchell, President of the Law Society of Northern Ireland. Each speaker emphasised the importance of practical, data-driven climate action within the legal profession and the tangible benefits of adopting a proactive approach to sustainability.
A full carbon footprint assessment and energy procurement exercise
This collaboration builds on recent work where Carbonfit completed a full carbon footprint assessment and energy procurement exercise for the Law Society, delivering impressive results:
- 30% reduction in electricity costs
- 20% reduction in gas costs
- 100% elimination of electricity-related emissions, saving over 35 tonnes of CO₂e annually
These outcomes demonstrate what’s possible when sustainability and commercial sense align—proving that climate responsibility can go hand in hand with operational efficiency and financial savings.
Now, through this new partnership, LSNI members can access Carbonfit’s award-winning Net Zero Intelligence Platform and expert support, helping firms of all sizes to measure, manage, and reduce their carbon impact while meeting evolving regulatory and client expectations.
LSNI and Carbonfit are empowering the legal sector to lead by example—showing that meaningful climate action is both achievable and advantageous.
